A consulting practice for women advancing into leadership in Germany
API Gateway Lab was founded to close a practical gap: career advice that understands both women’s leadership trajectories and the way German organisations promote.
Why we exist
Many women in mid-career German roles are told they are “almost ready” for leadership without receiving written criteria for the next step. Generic coaching often focuses on confidence while leaving promotion mechanics untouched.
We work the other way around: map the role, gather decision evidence, practise the conversations, and prepare negotiation for title and scope under German employment norms.
Where we work
Our office address is PasewalkerStrasse2069254MalschBaden-WürttembergGermany. Most pathway clients meet by video from across Germany; in-person sessions are available for clients who can travel to the Baden-Württemberg area.
Consulting is delivered in English. We routinely review German-language documents — Stellenbeschreibungen, appraisal forms, and collective-agreement excerpts — as part of the engagement.

Evidence over slogans
We build promotion cases from decisions you have already made, not from motivational framing.
Market honesty
If a target role is unrealistic on current evidence, we say so early and redesign the pathway.
Bounded capacity
We limit concurrent pathway clients so session preparation stays thorough.
Who delivers the work
Engagements are led by senior career consultants with experience advising women in German Mittelstand companies and larger corporate structures. We are not an employment agency and we do not provide legal representation.
